About us

Hey, I’m Jered.

I’m the founder of Panther City Data. I’ve spent the last 15 years working in data. Everything from building software to digging into analysis and finding what the numbers actually mean. Before I got into tech, I studied marketing and earned my bachelor’s degree. Over time, I ended up blending those two worlds: the technical side and the “what does this mean for the business?” side.

Panther City Data is really the result of that mix, along with my interest in clean design and clear, simple ways to show data.

What I believe:

  • Software should be beautiful.

It should feel clean, clear, and well thought out. A lot of business software feels heavy or hard to look at. It doesn’t have to be that way. Good design helps people understand data faster and actually use it.

  • Data tells a story.

Charts and tables are just the start. The real value comes from explaining what’s going on, why it matters, and what to do next. Without that, data is just noise.

  • Systems over specs.

A lot of requests sound like “just build this report.” I prefer to step back and ask what problem we’re trying to solve first. From there, I build something that actually helps people do their job better. Not just something that checks a box.
